I think that the name of a "challenge" should reflect the nature of the challenge. "Clean electricity" does (the challenge is presumably to find ways of getting low-carbon electricity), but "Financial systems" doesn't. We can guess what a possible challenge might be, but there are a variety of them, so it would be better for the challenge title to be more explicit. If the initial list is simply meant to be a set of categories for grouping the actual challenges, it would be helpful to say that, and to still encourage people to express the challenge itself in terms that reflect the nature of the challenge. edited 01:21, 23 Nov 2008

Currently, there is a different list of challenges on the left-hand navigation bar compared with the bullet-point list of links on the page itself. This is confusing. Is it possible to get these automatically synchronised (including the hierarchical nesting, e.g. under "Future transportation)?

Robert, I agree with you. The structure of the contents in the wiki is a bit confusing. When I created the new challenge " Supporting climate scientist to make more informed and compelling arguments” I considered the initial list as a set of categories for grouping the actual challenges. Thereby I added the new challenge " Supporting climate scientist to make more informed and compelling arguments” as a sub-challenge of the geoengineering group. Even though I don’t know if this is appropriate, because the challenge itself could have an interest also to climate scientists and technologist in general, despite the project on which we are facing the challenge is about geoengineering. It would be probably more appropriate, as you were suggesting, to simply listing the challenges in a whole list but making the challenge title more specific. Anna
